Dilemma - Will R6 Mark II be available in UK early December?

We go to the Galapagos on 5th December and I have a dilemma. I had made the decision to get the R5 but with the announcement of the R6 Mark II I have had a change in mind and would prefer the R6 Mark II if available.

Release is end of November in the U.K. From previous experience will I likely get hold of the R6 Mark II by early December?

Am I correct in assuming that the new autofocus features on the R6 Mark II will be on the R5 (firmware upgrades)? Only hesitation of getting the R5 is whether a Mark II will be released soon but is inevitable…

What are the odds of an R8 at this point?

It seemed like as soon as a rumor cracked about an R replacement/suspected R8, the R6mkII surfaced and stole the show. The R6mkII really seems to firm up that camera's place in the R series lineup. Now that it has been released, I am curious to know what the expectations are on the R replacement/R8 rumor. Anyone want to make any bets or prognosticate? I for one am very curious, as the R with some improvements occupies a space I would be interested in moving into, with the blend of MP and features. And I tipped my hand a little bit here, but would sum it up this way: The R6mkII really does a good job of differentiating itself from the other models in the lineup. An upgraded R makes a lot of sense right now, but I think the specs from the rumor might be a bit ambitious. However, I wouldn't mind IBIS at that price point if I could get it.

Very wide/fisheye lens RF for R5/R3 system from Canon?

Hi all. I am looking for a very wide and bright lens (ie F/1,8) for my R5 full frame camera.
I do astro and landscape photo and sometimes I need a wide lens.
Currently I have the RF 15-35mm f2.8 which is of course great BUT in some occasions, a brighter and wider lens will be very much welcome.
Sadly the old (and still good) EF 8-15mm Canon fish eye does NOT cover properly the full frame of my R5 as it works better with a different sensor...

Why canon so far has NOT put in their production calendar a wide lens?

The Canon EOS R6 Mark II will be announced on November 2, 2022

The Canon EOS R6 Mark II is coming even sooner than we expected, as Canon is now teasing an announcement on November 2, 2022.
We also want to add that we have been told that there are some ‘selling points’ about the Canon EOS R6 Mark II that haven’t been reported yet and make the new camera a ‘beast’. We don’t mind surprises on announcement day, but those sorts of specs will likely leak out over the next day or two.
Canon EOS R6 Mark II Specifications (Rumored)

24mp Full-frame CMOS Sensor
Dual Pixel RAW / RAW burst
Dual Pixel CMOS AF
In-body stabilization
Digital Tele-Converter
12fps Mechanical

Has the Canon 600EX II been discontinued ?

They seem to be Out of Stock anywhere near me and Canon Canada (& US too)
I have an unreliable Godox V860III in for repair under warranty
I take 4 - 800 Flash shots a week for Auctions so I need something reliable
The Godox are not reliable for my needs.
I've found a couple of places online that may actually have the 600EX II
but if it's being replaced should I wait for a 600EX III?

The Canon EOS R6 Mark II should be announced sometime this year

We have been trying hard to find out an announcement timeframe for the Canon EOS R6 Mark II. We have been told that the plan is to announce the camera before the end of 2022, exactly when is unknown. We don’t know if the EOS R6 Mark II will ship in 2022.
There are people that base buying decisions on future products, and we receive a lot of “should I wait for the R62 instead of getting the R6”?
Based on history, these are the things to consider when asking this question.

Venus Optics officially announces the Laowa Argus RF 25mm f/0.95 for APS-C

Anhui China, 25 October, 2022 – Venus Optics, the innovative camera lens manufacturer had already released a series of f/0.95 ultra-large aperture lens under the name “Argus” in last year. And today the company adding two new lenses to the Argus series:

Laowa Argus 18mm f/0.95 MFT APO – MFT
Laowa Argus 25mm f/0.95 APS-C APO – Sony E / Nikon Z / Canon RF / Fuji X / Canon EF-M

The new additions provide MFT and APS-C users with an option of about 35mm equivalent focal length. The ultra-fast f/0.95 on them makes shooting in low-light environments easier than ever and easily creates a dreamy look with the exceptionally shallow depth of field. Both lenses also have the APO design, which performs very well at combating chromatic aberration and provides outstanding sharpness even at wide open.
