Canon R5 Firmware 1.8.1 Released

Details of firmware changes​

This firmware includes the following functional improvements and modifications.
  1. [IBIS high-resolution shooting] has been added to the menu. By utilizing the in-body image stabilization mechanism, it is now possible to record images with higher resolution.

    • To check the image, please use EOS Utility/Digital Photo Professional. EOS Utility/Digital Photo Professional needs to be upgraded.
  2. Added [Save and read communication settings to card] to the menu. It is now possible to take over the network settings between cameras of the same model.
  3. You can now trim and resize while transferring images to the FTP server.
  4. Added "Image Protect" when transferring FTP to the menu. You can now automatically attach protection to images that have been transferred by FTP. This allows you to determine whether the image has been FTP transferred or not.
  5. Fixed a minor bug.

Like with the new R3 1.4 update that was also released today no AF improvements from Canon R6 Mark II
