Selfconfident pricing. 3224€, if just converted to €.
The Sony A7 is much lower than 3k - with a lot of cheap and good lenses. The Z7II has 45MP and - I think - about 25-30 lenses and is also lower than 3k.
So, what is the benefit of the R6??? Which incredible feature is coming?

And how much will be the R1, if the R6 is rumored higher than 3K.?

Tax?

UK prices will usually include 20% VAT (so ~£2330 + VAT)
US prices are often 'pre-tax' - consumer sales in the UK are not generally allowed to feature such prices

I know this has been missed out in many rumours of pricing for nearly 20 years, and still it comes as a surprise to some... ;-) It he UK price were ex-VAT, it would make the store price ~£3360. Something to make some posters here blow a gasket :)

Being of similar age to you Keith, I'm fully aware of the 20% VAT.

It's the Canon Tax I dissaprove of. The camera is still $2700 equivelent before VAT.

Sony and Sigma didn't used to do this - this is a unique Canon thing.

That's not a bad UK premium over the USA for Canon. The VAT-free price of £2316 equates to $2674, only a 7% mark up, and we usually get hammered with 11% or more. The current R6 is not too bad either compared with the R5. The grey market discounts haven't been that great for the R6, and I got mine from Canon UK with a double Christmas discount, making it cheaper than the grey market at the time.

I genuinely went on a tirade full of swear words when I saw the UK price of the 135mm f1.8 L USM of £2599, even if that does include VAT its £1000 more than the equivalent on Sony. That’s absolutely insane if that price is accurate.

considering the inflation since the release of the R6 was close to 20% I think these prices are amazing, especially if it ends up using the R3 sensor. I was really expecting the price to go higher. And was willing to pay more for an R6 that has video specs closer to ones found in the R5 (no overheat 4k, all the codecs, external raw...)
That's where I am at also, is it actually does this, I will have to sell my current one lol!
