We sent this information out last Friday in our newsletter with some hopes of further confirming the following information. We know a couple of additional things that we cannot publish at this time.

Canon was the quietest it has ever been at CES if my memory services me correctly. Though they did show some neat concept cameras.

We didn’t get a PowerShot announcement for CES 2018, which wasn’t all that surprising. Cameras tend to get lost in technology that will never reach market and televisions.

We expect two rounds of announcements ahead of CP+ 2018, which begins on March 1, 2018 in Yokohama, Japan.

What’s coming?

Canon EOS M50

New Entry Level Rebel(s)

At least two new lenses

At least one new PowerShot G series camera

We haven’t heard if the EOS 90D will be announced.

No EOS 7D Mark III Announcement.

What I have found odd is the EOS M50 being called the “Kiss M” in certification. I don’t recall any other EOS M camera getting the KISS designation in Japan. It could be something, it’s probably nothing.

Three new Rebels? Color me surprised there. Sales of Rebel cameras have been hit the hardest in the DSLR decline, adding more sku’s to boost sales?

We’re not sure which two lenses are coming at this time, but we’re 99% sure we’re getting at least two in the first quarter of 2018.

There has been nothing about an EOS 90D, though this is a show they have announced predecessors in the xxD lineup. I wouldn’t be shocked to see a new APS-C shooter. The 80D sold very well and Canon would be well served to update it.

The EOS 7D Mark III is not coming for this show.
